How do you assess the position of the United States in relation to the actions of Turkey in Syria?
Sherkoh Abbas:US president made a decision in the vacuum without consulting his NS team or Pentagon; I can say that United State from Pentagon to the Congress not mention American public all disagreed with president Trump. It would be interesting to release the transcript of the call between Trump and Erdogan to learn why he betrayed the only coalition in that part of the world who helped United States and world community in fighting ISIS. US and Turkey relation shaky at best, overwhelmingly both houses of the congress voted against Turkey’s genocide in Armenia and for attacking Kurdish allies.
Who currently supports the Kurds in their quest to create a Kurdish State formation, including the possibility to create a state as part of other states?
Sherkoh Abbas: Publicly, Israel and behind the seen some Arab countries and a few European countries. Both houses of the US congress and public opinion support the Kurds and want to acknowledge the Iraq and Syria are failed states and Kurds should be allowed to get an independent.
Will the Kurds continue the fight against the Islamic State?
Sherkoh Abbas: Yes, they are doing it because it is incompatible with our values and norms. Also, we started to fight ISIS long time before the US and coalition against ISIS started to help us. ISIS wants to kill Kaffar “infidel”, the Kurds, Yezidi, Christians, Jews and non-believers. So, we have to fight for our existence. We fought on behalf of humanity and the world community and UN abandoned us and gave the credit to ISIS supporters the Turks.
Is there a chance, that the Kurds of Syria, Iran, Iraq and Turkey will be able to occur with a common position?
Sherkoh Abbas: Kurds make-up more than 40 million people starting from Iran, Iraq, Syria and ending in Turkey can make a substantial difference in getting Kurdish rights of self-governance and independence if they could unite; however, they have been marginalized due to their differences and being leveraged by the regional powers. It is time for the Kurds to unite and fight for an independence. They have to learn from Zionists and adopt their model. Also, unite on common broad goals. Also, they need to work major powers to show how they can stop Shiaa Islamic crescent and Neo-Ottoman Islamic Sunni from controlling the Middle East. Both are radical Islamists, represent two different faces of the same coin and they will turn on Russia, EU and US. It is better to work with Kurds since they have the same values of the world community. Turkey and Ottoman created genocides against Kurds and Armenians, it took more than a century to acknowledge only Armenian genocide, yet they have not acknowledges what Turks did to the Kurds in terms of genocides, destruction of more than 4500 villages and they are still doing it. The winner always writes the history according to their vision and interests. Kurds finished ISIS caliphate, yet they got a little recognition and US, Turkey and others got the credit. This explain how Turks created genocides and blamed the Kurds in the past.
Is there a humanitarian catastrophe in the areas of Syria inhabited by Kurds?
Sherkoh Abbas: Yes, more than 400, 000 displaced recently and more than 240,000 displaced from Afrin in 2017.
All this area is being transformed to Islamists haven that is worse than Taliban. They are ethnically cleansing the area “Turks and its Islamists allies” mostly former ISIS Members. Already more than 1 million Kurds got displaced since 2003 and more recently since 2011.
What are your plans how the situation in this region could be normalized?
Sherkoh Abbas: Kurdish unity and working with world powers to show them that the only way to defeat ISIS and new version of ISIS2.0 created by Turkey should be eliminated because it is a threat to them, Kurds are the canary in the coal mine.
I call on US, Russia and EU to support the Kurds and stop Iran and Turkey from controlling the Middle East and threat you anytime they want with refuges, oil supplies, etc.
Thank you in advance for your answers…
