Ukraine is fighting two wars, one against Russian-backed separatists and another to reform its government and economy, US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt said on 28 July 2015. Speaking to journalists during a conference call, Pyatt said Russia is fueling the separatist rebellion in eastern Ukraine and sending military equipment across the border. Pyatt, who has served as ambassador for two years, emphasized that despite the conflict, Ukraine has made remarkable progress on reforms in line with Western values, including improving the country's justice system and revamping its economy.
